Who We Are

Who I am

My name is Alexandria Tisdale and I am the owner of Push, Inc. My nonprofit specializes in working with individual 17 years old to 26 years old to become financially free. Our mission is to empower youth and adolescent clients in achieving their financial goals by providing personalized and effective financial advice and solutions. In May 2015, I graduated from Virginia commonwealth University with a bachelor’s in Criminial Justice. I entered the work force in August 2015, and was hired as a Juvenile Probation Officer. Between 2015 and 2021 I worked with at risk youth within the criminal justice field. I heard time and time again from young people on that they committed petit crimes due to limited access to money and education. Many of them reported a life of crime is what they knew to survive. In 2021 I was promoted to Juvenile Probation Supervisor and I quickly learned financial accessibility played a factor in property, and access to resources. Which is why I believe it is important for young people to understand how healthy financial literacy and education go hand in hand.

I know first hand how important it is to have a healthy understanding of financial literacy and the importance of a great education and how those things can set a young person up for success. I grew up in South Hill, Virginia which is a rural town that populates about 4,683 people. Of that about 25% of those individuals are under the age of 25. Or that rate about 18% of the population lives is in poverty. I believe to reduce crime and promote education our young people have to first understand how money work and how to use it for their advantage. I believe if our young people are educated on budgeting, credit card usage, savings, and decision making making we will not only uplift the family unit as a whole but also release generational curses.
